Three churches make up St. Patrick Parish, the largest parish in the Amador Catholic Community. St. Patrick is the mother church in Jackson. St. Bernard and Our Lady of the Pines are the mission churches, located in Volcano and Pioneer, respectively. The parish serves over 800 families in the Jackson and “upcountry” areas (Pine Grove, Volcano, Pioneer). Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish is located in Ione, serving approximately 200 families in the area. In addition, the parish serves two stations located in Ione, the Mule Creek State Prison Station and the Preston School of Industry-California Youth Authority Station.
